Call to artists from Crocker's Mark Gallery and the Raleigh Flickr Group

Organizational Meetings Friday August 1st and Tuesday August 5th Time TBD @ 7PM

This is the 3rd annual Raleigh Flickr group Summer Project [08]

This juried competition is open to Raleigh area photographers and members of the Triangle area Flickr Groups.

These include:
Raleigh
Raleigh Social Group
North Carolina
Raleigh Meetups
Raleigh Insurgency
Triangle Area Group
Triangle Strobists
The Many Faces of Abby ;^)

General Information and rules:

There will be a $15 entry fee, one entry per person. Registration due no later than August 5th 2008 unless prior arrangements have be made with the gallery.

Work must be new and must not have been published on Flickr .

Images must be taken between August 1st and September 1st . Anything goes. The basic image must be photographic, but there will be no restrictions on subject, use of Photoshop or any restrictions as to type of camera, film or digital.

Work must be delivered to the gallery by Tuesday September 2nd

Work must be matted but not framed and be no larger than 11” x 14” overall.

There will be a limitation of 50 entrants on a first come first served basis

There will be monetary awards of $250, $125 and $75

Submitted work will hang in Crocker’s Mark Gallery from First Friday September 5th until the end of the month and entrants will have the option of offering their work for sale.

The judging of the work will be blind (no, not blind judges) but no names on the images.

The jurist pool will be comprised of professional photojournalist and educators. More on that at our organizational PARTY! First Friday, August 1st at the gallery. More on the party tomorrow.

We will also have a Virtual Gallery online.

Please feel free to ask questions and discuss this further in this thread. Most importantly, show up at the gallery August 1st any time after 6:00 PM for further details and registration. If it is not possible for you to be present, Flickr mail me to make other arrangements to register.
